Default Removing sight from Ruger 10/22

Ok so I am in the process of putting on a nordic chassis for my 10/22. For me to put the forend onto the chassis requires me to remove the sights on my 10/22. Now I have tried taking off the sights myself with a roll of duct tape to put the barrel on, but being a poor college kid, I have neither a proper vice nor the proper brass punches to get it off. I was wondering if there was a fellow gracious member of this forum that could possibly assist me with my problem, or point me in the right direction.

Buy punches at harbor freight, should be cheap. Don't use the wrong tool and bubba up your firearm.

The front sight is drifted out, like the rear is. The block the front sight it sits on is not removable. IF it's hard to drift the sights to either side some PB blaster, CRC, or other rust perpetrator will help. Before anyone suggest it don't use wd-40.
