Default Alberta gets dirt cheap gas

To celebrate 30 years of refining in Alberta, Shell is bringing back 1984 gas prices at select retail locations Wednesday.

Eight stations across Alberta will lower the price of bronze grade fuel to 039.9 cents per litre - the price it was 30 years ago.

So, that'd be about CA$1.51/ga, or about US$1.36/ga.

    I'd be up for that!

I remember bitching because it cost me $3 to fill a 5 gallon can with premium. I'd be really happy with that now!

It is varying widely across the metro area. Last week I got cheap stuff for $3.15 in Thornton, that same week it was in the $3.80's down on the south side of town. King Soopers on 136th and Colorado usually seems to have the cheapest around me, especially with either $0.03 or $0.10 per gallon discount.

Filled up @ $2.95 at Costco on the way home from work. Hope they keep on dropping and this isn't some kind of election year gamesmanship.

Still isn't dirt cheap. Gas should be a heck of a lot cheaper.
