Default Looking for an appliance repair person

Anyone here run an appliance repair business? The top ice maker on my Samsung fridge quit making ice many months ago. We've been using the bottom ice maker in the freezer section but I'd like to get the top unit working again. I'm in SE Aurora near Tower and Hampden. PM me.

Does the unit still turn when it cycles at the time it is supposed to dump out the cubes, but doesn't refill the tray with water ?
Or is it not moving ? And possibly is the full bin bar in the up position preventing it from making more ice cubes thinking it is already has a full ice bin ?

You would be surprised at the number of times I found the last one when I worked maintenance for a bunch of group homes., and it was the staff, not the residents submitting maint. work orders for that.

Beats me. All I know is it does not make ice any more. One day, once we used all the ice in the top bin, it stayed empty. The ice maker in the freezer section works so we just took the ice from there. Now that Thanksgiving is coming we'd like to top ice maker to work again. As for the bar, I don't see one. This isn't like the the ice makers I grew up with. It's all digital. You turn it off or on at the control panel on the door (and yes I had it on). If there is some kind of bar in the unit I can't identify it.

Pull out the ice tray and push & hold the reset button for 10 seconds, it is on right side of the ice maker. Give it a few hours and see if it starts making ice.
If not, you could take a gamble and just replace the ice maker. Get the model and serial number and search online or contact Appliance warehouse for the parts.
If you can operate a screw driver to remove 2 screws, remove the panel below the ice maker and push the release latch pull out the old ice maker and unplug the wire connector, you got it whipped.

I think it is a Samsung thing. Our shop fridge that cost the taxpayers $3K only made ice for a couple of months. We tried to get it fixed under warranty but because we are the .gov they said it was commercial use so FOAD.

My $800 Frigidaire has been making ice for 10 years now.
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Yeah I agree with you there. I have been unimpressed with my Samsung appliances so far. Dishwasher sucked so bad I just got rid of it instead of trying to fix it. If the fridge wasn't so damn expensive I would dump it too but I can't see getting rid of a $3k appliance over an ice maker. I'll try the reset thing Sideshow Bob recommended and if that doesn't work I'll have someone come out and fix it. I know I could do it myself but I just don't feel like dicking with it. Some tasks, especially ones I would derive no satisfaction from, I'd rather have someone else do while I'm off enjoying my limited free time.

I am a tech but it's too far to commute.
