You must've missed the part that said:
And even if he wins the case in Colorado, it's not going to change the rules for people like pilots and commercial drivers who are subject to drug testing under federal law.Despite the legalization of both medical and recreational marijuana, Colorado law does not require employers to allow marijuana use. The statute authorizing medical use of marijuana states, "Nothing in this section shall require any employer to accommodate the medical use of marijuana in any work place." Amendment 64, which approved recreational marijuana use for Colorado adults, has a similar provision.
And why do you think you get the DUI (actually it would be DUID)? It's because you chose to smoke dope and drive. No different than drinking.
Nothing except for that pesky little statement under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(3) which prohibits any person who is “an unlawful user of, or addicted to, any controlled substance”, which includes marijuana, from shipping, transporting, receiving, or possessing firearms or ammunition.
You can believe what you want about MJ...that's your prerogative. But you can't make up your own rules and facts about the consequences of using. Bottom line...if you choose to use it and you get nailed for it - whether it's losing your job, getting a DUID, getting arrested by the feds for illegally possessing a firearm, etc... - the fault will lie squarely on your shoulders for the choices you made. It's not because the cops or anyone else ruined your life. It's because you were stupid.

I give them job application forms from the local Pizza Hut.![]()
If the beggars are young, able to work and looking for a new start, I'll offer to take them to the recruiting station. If they really want out of their misery, they'll take it; if they don't, they're just junkies or looking for the easy way out. I personally have not had any takers on the recruiting station deal.
Call me what you will!!

I've personally made a joke about someone being homeless, TWICE, and had a person in the immediate vicinity tell me how they used to be homeless. I also worked with a guy at Medved who had an interesting story. Mr. Medved himself was walking through the airport, and this guy supposedly came up to him and asked for money. Mr. Medved said, "How about a job?" He drove the guy back to the dealership and he had been working there for like 15 years by the time I was working there.
