Apparently (as taken from another site) the photographer is one of the instructors at the class being conducted there. Still this is a whole case of dumb ass in a box! What's more, why didn't any of the students step back and go "uh, dumb ass, WTF!!"

Don't care who they are, that's not a line I would be on. Most likely would have up and left the class at that point and insisted on getting my money back.

I would imagine that if he is a NRA certed instructor they would drop him like a bad habit.

If the insurance carrier found out about this they would also drop the range in a heart beat.

It's been a long time since I have seen stupid like that.

Am I a bad person for hoping he catches one in an arm or leg to teach him a lesson?

    Yes it is.

I do not agree with the practice nor do I think its smart, but...

Having someone down range does not violate any of the 4 safety rules, and the world is not a square range.

If any of these people get a little adrenalin going and miss that target, that guy is fawked! And what kind of moron pulls there weapon to a "ready" position and points it up? Ever wanna know what it feels like to shoot somebody? go to this class and miss your target...

This video is awesome. I personally would not have agreed to do that, because I'm a bad shot, and I know it.

I wonder how often Tactical Response takes videos like this? Is it often, or was this a one time incident? Anyone know?

There are many different ready positions than just the traditional Low Ready. Different schools teach different things and have a different philosophy. Some even teach position SUL (yes, with a pistol).
