Sturtle, I with you. Down at the ground is best. I don't know how many times I heard while in the Army......Up and down range you! Even when I had no ammo or mag in the firearm and the bolt is open. Sometimes it made sense others it didn't. Guess you got to be real careful in todays Army. Not the brightest soldiers going in nowadays.

And these guys on this video....no hope for them. As a drill once told me. I can cure fat. Can't cure dumb. The camera guy down range is dumb and fat. All these guys are so dumb. Shooters, filmers, still photographers, all of em'. This video is all over the place getting the same feedback as on here. This is going to hurt this company that put this on. Just think....they paid to learn this.

TR's CEO recently posted this in response to all the "hate" (his words) he's been getting for posting that video:

Edit to add: I can't find the original video, either. I find it interesting that if TR doesn't have a problem with what that camera man did then why do they keep having it pulled everywhere off the interweb?? If they have "nothing to hide" and an "impeccable safety record", why keep pulling the video?

Probably because their insurance threatened to non-renew them. Having a website can be a real deterrent to getting insurance. If an underwriter looked them up on-line and came across that video, they wouldn't write the policy.

He said that they have always been controversial when it comes to safety.
In other words we have no idea on how to explain that dumb ass move we pulled.

That guy is such a freaking tool it isn't even funny.

This is just a really bad idea. I'm sure by now it's biting them in the pocketbooks.

There IS a time and place to be down range during live fire. It is very very rare, and secluded to advanced military firearms training only. The two that come to mind are break contact drills and peel-off drills for special ops and specialized combat teams. I have been through the only class approved to teach these techniques for the AF. I have shot live rounds with team-mates down range of me and visa versa. The amount of instructors to students is one to one, and everyone is wearing level IV body armor. This is a different reason entirely than going down range to take happy-snaps with a camara. Short of the above training there is absolutely NO reason for anyone to be down range during a live fire drill.

I really do love the sexy Charlies Angels spin move the guy does. That's just tacticool as hell. BTW, the same class that did the break contact drills and peel-off drills also teaches SUL ready with M-4 and pistol. For combat, it works. For LE house entry stacked up, low ready is better IMO. I've been through both types of training. They both have their place. Never seen a place for the Charlies Angels move yet except for TV and movies.
