I got this email a half hour ago from my kids school:

Parents,
A parent with a concealed weapon permit brought the weapon into the school building this morning, October 16, 2014just prior to 8 a.m. Gilpin County Sheriff Deputy Lee Ramsey immediately contacted the parent and confiscated the pistol. Deputy Ramsey arrested the parent and the parent is in custody at the Gilpin County Jail. Criminal charges are pending.

Other parents in the building at the time reported to administrators and Deputy Ramsey that a weapon was in the building. Deputy Ramsey took immediate action to safeguard all students.

All students and staff are safe and school was not disrupted and continues as normally scheduled.
