Many of the newer schools, or following school remodels they are installing metal detectors. The school that my wife works at requires any visitor to buzz in, look into a security camera, walk through double security doors equipped with metal detectors. The metal detectors do not alarm, and only show up in the school resource officer office as well as the front desk receptionist. There is probably more than that, but I really don't ask questions.

He probably got passively hit with the metal detector and was approached and questioned by the officer.

Just because your kids school did not have them last year, does not mean that they are not going to be installed over the summer.

There would be a ton of metal on parents and kids alike though.

That is my understanding... but I carry in my kids' school all the time, so what do I know?

Then you are breaking the law and have foolishly announced to the interweb that you are committing a felony..not a good idea.

I personally will happily store my weapon(s) in my vehicle while at my kids school.. I'm not going to risk a felony conviction and potentially get jail time and not be able to provide for my family.

But hey if ya'll want to take that risk, have at..just don't be silly and announce you're committing a felony on the damn errornet..rember that everything on the internet last forever and can and will be used against you.
