Action recycling in Wheat Ridge on 42 and Wadsworth has taken mine.
Every time I have been to Action they were completely rude, not helpful, and the area is a mess. I won't go back. Buyer ... or rather seller beware. I recycle a LOT of scrap aluminum and quit going there years ago due to their crap service and absolute lack of caring that you are there.
Sometimes people trip and fall down stairs.
Sometimes assholes push people down stairs.
That doesn't mean "stairs are bad" nor does it make someone who pushes someone down the stairs any less of an asshole.
If it is totaly unreloadable (split, separated, etc), might as well recycle it, or sell to someone who uses brass to swage jackets. If you save up a couple of 5gallon buckets worth, next time you are in the springs, koscove metal recycling here in the springs will take it. you'll probably only get 20 to 40 dollars for it. not exactly sure of the prices right now. They also used to sell me lead and wheel weights, but suddenly stopped. not sure why. (probably because I was there once a week)
Atlas will take it.
That said so will I if its not split, I'm off work tomorrow and could pick it up. Pm me if you are interested.
I take mine to Western Here in Boulder and they take it no problems, spent primers too.
Atlas or the one near 58th and Washington pay the best. The others are just collection centers that take their stuff to atlas or metal and iron.
Thanks for all the great replies, last time I looked I'm up to about 400 rounds of once fired .38spl cases, I'll check out Action.
