Only about 11 people there. They had a rep from up North, Jerry, and one from the metro area, Regina, and one from Virginia.

Basically they are looking for people to make calls and go door-to-door distributing info. Similar to the recall process last year.

If you do the call thing, the software masks your phone number and shows up as the official NRA number in VA. They give you a script as a guide but you can ad lib. Just a basic "Hi I'm xxxx and I'm calling to let you know that we support candidate xxxx who has an A rating with the NRA. Thank you." I'm sure current NRA members have gotten similar calls themselves.

The door-to-door areas that they are focusing on is Centennial and Jeffco, specifically Senate district 19, Laura Woods. On this page it talks about her wanting to repeal the gun laws. http://ballotpedia.org/Laura_J._Woods Jerry commented that there's some old saying "as Jeffco goes, so goes Colorado".

I think Centennial is to assure Mike Coffman keeps the Congressional seat against Romanoff after the redistricting cut out most of Douglas county.

Jerry told his story of how he got involved by attending a meeting like last night's back in the 90's when Klinton brought up the AWB. Talked about being worried of irate people on the phone or chasing him off their porch during the door-to-door. He said nothing bad has ever happened, the "worst" is you hear the click of someone hanging up on you.

Regina is going to be running the Centennial walks and would be a contact for the phone bank. Regina Thomson regina@nrailafrontlines.com 720-371-9218

Jerry is running the Jeffco walks and also a contact for the phone bank. jerry@nrailafrontlines.com 720-355-6774

They also mentioned that the biggest number of people who are not voting are church going conservatives. No excitement for candidates, etc. If you attend church this weekend, maybe bring up to the pastor/minister/main person this fact and see if they'll mention it.
