There is a lot of history being the old brand that it is. What part are you referring to?

Old Forester was named after General Nathan Bedford Forrest. The second R got lost along the way. The story I was told (not easily found on the interweb) is that General Forrest as one of the founding members of the KKK. Back then it was a Southern gentleman's drinking club. More of a social group than what it turned into.
