Ya... Throwing a bottle justifies MRAPS, pointing guns at people and possibly shooting people. You would think cops were made of glass themselves, so weak and fragile. You would think that they don't expect to lay down their lives for the communites they protect. No they expect to be in 'CHARGE!!' Respect my ATHORITAAAA. When everybody is 'they' and 'them' the community is the enemy. As long as you comply, law and order are maintained. The British thought this at one time. If you are not willing to be part of the community and in fact be at risk; you should get another job.

A lot of my family are cops (real cops), many of them are even in Missouri (where I grew up) dealing with this. This is personal for me. I worry about them but have also seen how over reaction from those with a badge has caused the problem instead of de-escalting as it should be. Cops need to be Cops again and not think of this as a war zone.... Unless they make it one. Somebody breaks a window, arrest them. Don't beat the hell out of'em and wonder why the rest of the people fight back.

We will see who acts like a thug when the announcement comes out. I hope both sides keep their cool.

You are out of your freakin' mind if you think those demands are reasonable.

Anyone who thinks that is reasonable should probably be demonstrating with the thugs on the street. FFS.

How about you let me bust you in the melon with a Coke bottle? Let's see how weak and fragile you are. Better yet, pick up a bottle and threaten your local cop with it. See if that gets a gun pointed in your general direction. Course, you having all sorts of family members in law enforcement makes you an expert and all.

When was the last time one of your real cop relatives said they "expect" to lay down their lives for the community? My guess is never. That's one of the most asinine things you've ever said.

So what's next? The guys that plan the next bank robbery get to dictate their terms to the police? Does the next guy who gets drunk and beats his wife into a coma get to dictate how the cops handle the call? Surely the next child molester can make demands of the cops?

The police are only obligated to act within the law. Period. They are not obligated to concede to these demands nor should they. Their response should be, as long as everyone behaves themselves and assembles peaceably, you won't have anything to worry about from the PD. Break the law and we'll do what it takes to arrest your dumbass.

Default INSANE: Ferguson “Activists” Deliver Pre-Riot Demands To Police

^^There it is. A glass bottle is no joke. Some of the larger ones may as well be aluminum bats or large rocks when thrown and the smaller ones will still put your lights out or worse. They don't break like they do in the movies.

They also take rubber / tennis balls and push nails through them. But hey what's a harmless bottle thrown at the Thin Blue Line.

Yup, unfortunately some know nothing about the "thin blue line", except for what their family members share with them.

    Yep. It makes no sense.

I'm no part of the blue line but from first hand experience with a beer bottle and a pool cue to the head. I'll take the pool cue next time. At least it broke.

I really hope they Ferg PD doesn't even acknowledge that stupid proposed ROE.

Knew a guy who got into a scuffle at a house party in college. Someone threw a bottle, it broke against his jaw, and fragments sliced open his throat. Another fraction of an inch and he'd have bled out right there. He's still got a gruesome scar to show for it.

Yeah anyone that thinks a glass bottle can't be lethal is a maroon...
