Wow- that's awful.
When I get scam calls (Usually from "Credit Services") I interrupt the caller and ask them to speak slowly and enunciate, so my recorder can catch everything they're saying...and then I state the time, date, repeat the telephone number they're calling from and ask them to spell their full name. They usually hang up. I usually get a massive amount of calls in the beginning of summer, for some weird reason.
But I've never had harassment to that level. Geeze.

A year ago I got a VOIP line through OOMA.com, and it has a shared spammer call blacklist that you can have automatically block any known spam callers. If any get through, you can add them to the list of spam calls and it'll help others avoid them. It's worked great, honestly I haven't gotten more than 2 spam calls in that year.

I've had scam calls before, but Jesus, Bailey, that's ridiculous. I would totally pursue a formal complaint with the AG, and even file one with the FCC (as they handle the violations to the Do Not Call list). I get calls every so often from things where at one point or another someone has given or sold my number to someone. Hell, during the Stock Show last year, my friends gave my info to Stevenson Chevrolet and some contest. Do you have any idea how hard those are to actually stop? I still get emails from Stevenson. But never anything like threats have come my way. That's pretty extreme stuff.

I have received a few of those calls. I lead them on and ask questions:
Really, where did you get this information from?
How do you know that what you have there is accurate?
What makes you think I will respond to your demands?
Why would you think that I owe you anything?
Who says?
Can I talk to your supervisor?
Sometimes I don't get to ask more than two questions and they hang up. Haven't had any calls for about a month now.

International crime is impossible to get investigated. The FBI is a F'ing Bunch of Incompetents, the Colorado AG utterly useless, etc. Now if you want action, report that they offered you pirated versions of Disney films.

On a recent spam call, the bastards used our own phone number to show who the call was from. This was shown on our caller ID readout. Some one else said that they experienced the same thing.
When my kids were younger, I'd hand the phone of to one of them. This was a win win for me. The kids loved talking to whatever moron was on the other end. I, of course, got rid of the moron.
