Default Help I Need Nissan Mechanic in Loveland area

I have a 1997 Nissan Pickup. Yesterday it gave me a CEL code of
P1447. According to my research It can be any number of things
causing the problem. I need some one who will not just throw a
bunch of parts on the truck trying to hit the problem.

Specifically, P1447 reads EVAP Purge Flow Monitor

I have to get an emissions test and know it will not pass with
    this code.

I am in Johnstown so Loveland is a good location for me.

If you have been doing any off road driving or driving on muddy roads make sure you don't have mud packed around the purge solenoid or something silly.

Also, not sure if the gas cap could set this code or not but make sure it didn't get left loose.

+1 on the gas cap. I had this one pop up after the wife filled up the car and left the cap loose...Most auto parts stores will have a simple OBD II scanner you can use to read/reset the codes. I actually have one, but I'm in Golden...

Thanks for the ideas. I have checked the gas cap and I have reset the code. It has not
come back after 21 miles. I will drive it through the weekend and see what happens.

I am still scratching my noggin' on what could have happened.

Outside resolving the issue. If your pvc valve is old replace prior to test. Same for the gas cap. I've seen Fail on emissions because of a gas cap that doesn't hold when tested. A fukin gas cap makes you come back do it AND pay again.

Miss the old days when you could throw someone a $10-20 spot to use another vehicle to pass.

I cleared the code and went to the emissions test center. They ran it through twice.
On the second try it got a CEL and the same code. BUT, they passed the truck
and I got out of there.
