From an explanation on thread bumping I sent someone years ago:

Like I said, it sounds a lot more complicated that it really is and it confuses a lot of members.


But pleease keep in mind that our site rules restrict an individual bumping their thread (in the Trading Post forums) more than once in a 24 hour period. The exception to this is if you need to post a reply to a specific question asked in your thread.
One other thing you don't want to do, unless you want to get on the bad side of the mods, is post a sentence using just one or two words at a time. That'll go over like a lead balloon.
