Admittedly, it probably takes a lot more background and understanding to read these stats correctly.
However -
Violent crime down 4.4 percent vs 2012 (While US population increased a little under 1%)
1,163,146 violent crimes reported
14,196 murders
of those 12,253 had some sort of weapon
of those 8,454 used a firearm of some type
of those 285 used a rifle (any type)
I wonder what percentage of those 285 were ar-15 style?
I really don't understand why the scary black rifle receives so much attention.
