Dillon Super Swage Question

Hi all. Probably a dumb question but I'll ask it anyway.

Working on some once fired 5.56 brass trying to remove the primer crimp with my super swage. In order to remove the crimp as shown in the manual, I'm getting a wierd bubble in the pocket by the flash hole, like the inside of the pocket is not flat all the way around. If I back off the swage the crimp remains. I can't seem to find a happy medium. Any tips are greatly appreciated.

Take a pc of brass, cut it in half from the base / primer area and another cut across the case. This will give you a template to adjust your swager to brass. It looks like you're going too deep.

Must be. I backed off the swage and am no longer getting the dent, but I"m still finding that it is difficult to seat primers. I'm getting little half moon brass shavings around the shell plate of my 550, and the primers have a depressed slope to them. Is this par for the course with military brass? I tried some .223 brass and it primed like a dream?

I like this idea. I have a bunch of brass to process and have yet to even setup my swager.

I usually turn and cycle the case a couple times to make sure it gets swaged all the way around. I know this takes way longer but it seems to help. On some cases I have also used a reamer to take off the sharp edges. If you look at the crimp you will will get an idea of what needs to happen. Lake city brass needs less attention than others. I forgot which brass needs the most work, I tend to give that stuff away.
