Money is tight so price is definitely a factor. Thus a rifle can will have to suffice for now.
    I going with a 30 cal can.
The host's will be a 300BLK pistol, Sig 516 5.56, and more than likely another 5.56 shorty at some point. I've got a couple ak's that would probably like to play as well.

Bang for the buck, I'm looking at the YHM Phantom M2 (stainless) with QD. They did quite well in some video's I've seen.
If I weren't pinching cash to get this done, I'd probably go with Thunderbeast, or the Specwar as it's my understanding that both are tanks.
I always thought that if I were to get a can it would be the SDN6. But with the hit and miss on whether or not they lock up tight, I'm just not feeling the love anymore. Especially if I can snatch up a can that will foot the bill at 2/3 the cost.

In the end, I'm sure all will work for what I need them to do. It seems like every time I'm ready to pull the trigger on one, something comes up and it goes on the back burner. I've had a trust in place for over a year and no NFA on it. It's time to get something done.

Great info throughout! Thanks gents! I'll keep doing some due diligence, but suspect I'll start with an Octane 45 and get a .30 cal can for my rifles, down the road.

FYI, you don't see a lot of suppressors on the AK platform because the threading is not reliable and you'd need to get it recut. Just FYI. I wouldn't attach a can you care about to an AK without getting it recut bore-concentric, and even then...

YHM makes a good can, and you'll be happy with it.

The AAC 51T issue you mentioned IMHO is overblown and generally not a real issue, but if it worries you, definitely get something you're comfortable with. Plenty of good manufacturer's other than AAC. Plus with all the crap surrounding Freedom/Cerberus/Remington/AAC...

LOL. Pretty sure we're talking something larger than a 50cal can in that case.

I've had several transactions now w/SilencerShop.com (henceforth referred to as SS.com) and I recommend them wholeheartedly. Also, if you have any on your list that qualify for the AAC Damn the Man $200 rebate... get it NOW! The prices at SS.com are the cheapest I could find and nobody local was even willing to come close to matching as I was wiling to pay more to keep my business local. Some of the smaller guys who also do x-fers came close but the shops weren't even willing to discuss discounts and in fact most local shops have an agreement to not do transfers for SS.com and will even try to convince would-be customers that they're up to something shady. They're not. Press them for details and they will have none to offer you. Of course not because they're on the up and up they're just doing it cheaper than you. That's part of why I no longer give these idiots my money. SS.com has fantastic customer service and I'm always pleasantly surprised by the things they do w/o me even requesting. I ordered a AAC Spectre II using the Damn the Man rebate and the next morning I had an email with all the information I needed for the rebate including the serial number and a scan of the UPC from the box of my suppressor. I was able to fill out my rebate online in a couple of minutes. Here I was thinking it would be a month or two before my local NFA dealer would physically get the can before I could do the rebate and to my surprise I had the rebate submitted less than 24hrs after purchase thanks to their extra efforts in customer service. If they were just the cheapest place to buy suppressors I'd be happy with that but they offer customer service that my local shops that charge 50% more for the exact same item would laugh at if you requested let alone volunteering it w/o requesting. SS.com is how NFA should be done & has a customer for life.

I've got two of the YHM Phantoms; a 30cal Moly QD from maybe 5 years ago or more & a SS 5.56mm QD and both have been fantastic. For what I paid I'm MORE than happy with both and if you want to get into suppressors on a budget it's a wonderful place to start and the difference between them and offerings that cost 3x or more can be splitting hairs sometimes with different pros and cons for each option. The QD is one of my favorite and there's many different options out there for muzzle devices and being able to go from a 30cal to a 5.56 adds a lot of flexibility for your first suppressor. You will eventually want to get a dedicated 5.56mm can for your lighter weight rounds as the size & weight may get to you depending on how you use those rifles but it's still a great jump-off point on any budget.

All of my suppressors have come through MachineGunTours. If I had to start over, I would get a rebuildable, take-apart .22LR can, a .45ACP can and two Thunderbeasts (30PS and a 30PSS). But then improvements have been made since I started as well and I can't say I am unhappy with my collection at all. The guys at MGTS have always been great to deal with as well.
