Default Moving a gun safe. Need help with ideas!

I've got a problem....I am moving to TN and have to move a 900 lb. gun safe. No one will rent me a moving truck with a lift gate for a one way move. I got a pallet jack squared away and help to move it but can't figure a way to get it into a truck that only has a ramp. It currently sits on a pallet that it came on. Any ideas? I would like to not spend much money to get this done. I know I'll have the same issue on the other end but got to tackle one step at a time.

    Thanks
    GT

Take the tailgate off, use a flat piece of steel if you can find one as a ramp?

My guess is you would be better off selling this one local and picking up a new one when you get there.

Get a large portable engine hoist... pick it up and set it into the truck. might be able to find a rental to use somewhere, and hope you can do the same in TN.

grab a local landscaper with a bobcat and forks to lift it. Else you can rent a forklift but it will run 150 for the day.

A bobcat can lift about 1500 lbs without any problem.

Just thought of this. I've got a hydrolic tilt trailer with a winch we can use to pull the safe onto my trailer then back the trailer up to the rental truch and use a piece of steel(I have a perfect plate of steel for this purpose) to make a small ramp up in to the rental truck. If you can find out the height of the deck on the rental truck that can give me a better idea of what needs to be done! We can make this happen, even if I need to take it to a loading dock on my trailer!!

I was just about to PM you. I'll look into the deck height tomorrow. I'll email you.

I dunno how feasible it is, but can you find a loading dock with a ramp that you can use? I have done this with motorcycles in the past.

If all else fails, call a tow company and ask them for a flatbed wrecker to help you out, I used to do stuff like that all the time, even put a boat into a U-Haul.
