I like this explanation, but does no one have a sig that they can put slightly out of battery (with hammer down, I assume) to see if pulling the trigger will bring the hammer back DA style?
I've tried to do it on the only 2 DA/SA pistols I have: HK USP 45 and Jericho 941 (essentially CZ-75) It's pretty hard to do with an HK, and I don't know if the firing pin would have been blocked or not to prevent a discharge. On the Jericho, it was a bit easier (ie I can make the hammer go back and forth) but without a round in it, who knows if it would have gone off.
Where is Al Sharpton at?
He always defending these street thugs that get shot.
Probably stirring the pot behind the scenes; job security & all.
I 'automatically' question everything I read or hear anymore. I recently overheard a couple at the deli counter discussing how a 1/2 pound was only 6oz because there are 12oz in a pound. I decided to respect my elders and kept my mouth shut.
So .45 or 45mm, it's all the same to many these days. It's sad how stupid people are.

I went and tried this on my Sig SP 2022 in 9mm, and did discover that in SA pulling the trigger with the slide is OOB results in the hammer falling and it sounds like the firing pin is engaged. However, firing in DA while OOB results in the hammer going halfway back and falling forward with a light click indicating the firing pin is not engaging fully. There is also a click as the trigger does reset when it comes forward.
I have a 226 at home. I'll mess with it when I get home tonight.
