Was in 5280 earlier today and noticed a sign out front saying they are taking the whole month of July off for inventory. Went in and talked to Matt, and he confirmed. So the Westside will be down a shop till August.

Oh no!
Inventory as in they dont have any....or Inventory as in checking theirs?
If its an Inventory check, I'm sorry to say but it doesnt take a full month to inventory their small shop.
Sorry dude I've known and bought from Matt and Gina for many years (7+) now, I'd ask how in the world you know what they have in inventory? How do you know they don't have a massive amount at another site, e.g. their former store front? Guess you never noticed that what they had on the tables at the Tanner show's was always more than they had out on display at the store.
I don't always agree with some of the things Matt does or says, but they are one of the few absolutely stand up vendors we have in the Metro area. I think you're out of line, but if you know something that I don't about Matt or Gina or their business, please do share.
Ummm yeah...Because I use to work with them. I literally have been there, done that AND have the Tshirt to prove it! I'm even in the picture on his website from his opening day. In fact, I worked behind the counter on his opening day.
I helped him set up his current shop when he moved down from the mountains. I know full well their inventory especially at the gun shows. I had to help them haul all that crap around for a couple years. And yes, I do indeed know much more about Matt and Gina...and their business than you do.
Absolutely stand up guy HE is not. I've seen him nearly jump over the table and assault a customer over a $10 transaction. I've seen him take items that came with guns from the factory and sell them as extra's. I've been personally screwed by him on a couple deals that ended our business relationship. I'm obviously bias, but I'm telling the truth.
Take that!
I am not sure some others have had a GOOD OR BAD experience, but I saw a guy (who wears shorts even during the winter; i assume it is Matt) almost jumping over the table during the Tanner Gun show. I once saw him stopping the conversation, and run about 15m/yd and taking rifle out of someone.
I once got accidently got pushed/bumped by someone around 07 gun show. Which it happens a lot there. I guess it moved his firearm a little from the table. He got mad at me and others for pushing his table/items around.
I think i saw him getting mad/angry/etc every other time I goto a gun show (during 06-08). I don't know how he is now. I don't like to complain. I don't even want to critique about their business ethics nor his attitude. I don't care he is only making $10/gun sales.
I am just telling you what I've seen at a gunshow.
I don't like talking bad about any businesses, but this guy seriously needs some type of help.
Would I buy from them? Sure, if the deal is too damn good to be true. If they are selling NIB Sig P220R for 1/2 the price, sure! I am willing to take his F#&#& crap to save 50%.
However, if the price is +/- 15% of other competitor(s), I would rather goto other local competitor(s).
Sounded like they needed a well deserved break after the feeding frenzy.
