Help Me Decide - Suppressor or Revolver
Looking at spending *about* $1,000. Trying to decide which choice to make between a suppressor for the .22's or a companion revolver for my Henry Big Boy in 45LC.
I don't 'need' either one. In fact, I already have a Cimarron SAA in 45LC, but since it may have issues with modern robust 45LC loads, I want to get something a bit more stout, hence, have settled on the S&W 460V. It has the added advantage of being able to chamber MUCH more powerful 454 Casull and 460 Magnum rounds which sound like fun . . . at least, for a few rounds.
Competing with the S&W is a new suppressor. This would be my/our first entry into NFA which, alone, makes it appealing. We have several firearms that can accommodate a suppressor, but I think I'll start with one for a 22LR rifle. Between the cost of the suppressor, the tax stamp and transfer fees, the estimated cost is about the same as the S&W 460. This assumes I can prepare the NFA Trust myself, otherwise, getting started into the NFA world will end up being a bit more expensive than the revolver.
So what do you think? Which option would you choose - and why?
