Arts & Crafts: Stoneglass Windows

My dad's retired and can get bored, so he's made a couple window replacements around his house. This is in his study, and it's high up toward the ceiling. Basically, the frame was made out of beat copper, and each stone piece was individually cut/sliced/carved/shaped by saw/grinder/etc. I don't know exactly what the joint material is holding each piece together, but it seemed like it was some kind of solder material. It holds up pretty well against the admittedly-mild weather and lets in a great amount of light, considering it's stone and not glass. I was pretty impressed with it so I thought I'd share it with you all. Sorry it's in thumbnail mode, I didn't want to upload them to tinypic or some dumb place.

Wow! So, the 'spokes' are actually made from stone, and the rest is stained glass and copper? It's amazing and beautiful. Your dad has quite the talent!

The "glass" is all stone cut really thin. I think the spokes are a soldering material. Thanks for the kind words!
