The republicans don't have much say at this point. If you read what this bill pays for, doesn't pay for and how much existing program budgets were increased or decreased you'll see this isn't a total loss for republicans. There's a lot more to it than just the amnesty thing. For example, the IRS budget was cut by over $300 million. I'm not saying it's good...just saying it's about as good as it's gonna get at this point in time.

Partially right. The Dems and mainstream media blamed the shutdown on Republicans and much of the public bought it despite all the evidence the shutdown as engineered by Obama as much as the 1995 shutdown was used by Clinton for political advantage. The Dems used the shutdown pain to political advantage. The Republicans were saved in 2014 by Obama's obvious misuse of the IRS, continuing unpopularity of Obamacare, and several other missteps but make no mistake -- the Democrats salivate at the opportunity to inflict pain on the public whenever the Republicans try to use the power of the purse to curb Obama. Inflicting pain and blaming that on the GOP is one of the few tools they have and they use it a lot.

Personally, I would have preferred the GOP pass a CRA that lasted through February and then fight the battle over the whole budget but this course is better than letting the Dems threaten a government shutdown over the holidays. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid were probably wetting their pants hoping they could shutdown airports and government checks at the exact time people were traveling and looking for their earned benefits then blame the GOP for it all.

Oh...and BTW: The liberals in the senate are in an uproar over the house bill. This isn't a done deal by a long shot. Judging by the outrage from people like Elizabeth "I'm a Native American" Warren, I wouldn't be so quick to jump on the "I hate the GOP" bandwagon.

This bill is in real trouble. Boehner is scrambling to find the votes to pass it because conservative GOP members don't like it. Dems don't like it, either, because of cuts and the higher limits on campaign contributions. Either way it'll never pass the senate in it's current form. Don't be surprised if we find ourselves on the verge of another "shutdown" with democrats and their lackeys in the media blaming republicans for everything.

Yeah...no one was happy about it, either:

Looks like Lamborn voted against the bill...I'm good with that.

Maybe the Tea Party should be it's own party instead of being associated with the (R).

All that does is divide the non-Democrat vote. Just keep working to take over the Republican Party. It's slower than separating but more effective.
