Default Looks like my party is no longer working for me, in case there was any doubt.

GOP Cuts Spending Deal: Yes on Obama's Amnesty (Thru At Least Feb. 27); No on Light Bulb Reg and ObamaCare appears to be fully funded too. WTH???

    December 9, 2014 - 11:51 PM

(CNSNews.com) - The Republican leadership in the House of Representatives has cut a deal with Senate Democrats on a government funding bill that will permit funding for the implementation of President Obama's unilateral amnesty of as many as five million illegal aliens through at least Feb. 27, 2015.

By contrast, the bill also uses Congress's power of the purse to prohibit the administration from moving forward with regulations that would effectively outlaw incandescent light bulbs.

The House Republicans have two options. They can let the government shut down, which historically has hurt them with voters; or they can broker a deal until they have both chambers in Congress with a little more leverage. The vast majority of voters want both sides to work together so it looks like they are choosing the second option, which is all they can really do right now. Why do you think Obama did the immigration thing before the next congress is seated?
I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.

    Please explain.
As I recall, the Govt. "shutdown" in 2013, and the R's swept up the elections in 2014.

Only Liberals want "both sides to work together."

I was heavily involved in politics back during the '95 shut down and I remember all too well the Republican's getting absolutely hammered by the public. 2013 was a little different and just about everybody in Congress as well as Barry himself was resented for what happened. The 2014 election was a little different. Primarily, people finally experienced the ObamaCare BS. Unfortunately ObamaCare didn't go live prior to his re-election. If it did, he would have lost hence the implementation date set post 2012. Anyhow, I am sure Republicans tread lightly from past experience, and they are right to do so. When Congress changes over, the PR war will begin. I am not confident the Republicans will win. Moderates do not appreciate the partisan bickering nor do they appreciate government shut downs; it is not only "liberals" that want both sides to work together. The majority rules mentality is a major cause of what got us into this mess in the first place, because it is a complete break from our constitutional republic as it was intended.

Don't worry, the new spending bill also allows much higher contribution limits to national parties. So in essence in a two year period you and your wife will be able to donate about 1.3 million to the RNP. Because as we all know, more money in politics is always the right answer.

The Republicans can't compete with the Santa Claus party unless they become another Santa Claus party.

If they don't, the dems win and we loose.

If they do, the 'pubs have a chance and we lose.

Anyone see where this is going?

Yeah, in the same direction it has been going for the last 100 years. They're just picking up speed.
Liberals never met a slippery slope they didn't grease.
