Thread: Which Glock?

  1. #1

    Default Which Glock?

I received a Glock Pistol Certificate via random drawing at Johnson 3Gun.

    I've already got 2x G34's and a G19.

I was toying with the idea of redeeming it for something I wouldn't normally buy. Like maybe a G32 or G32C.

    Any thoughts?

Otherwise I'll probably either get another G19 or G34.

I vote staying caliber common and going with another G19. They always seem to be sought after pistols so if you don't want to keep it you can sell it probably pretty quickly. Or go with a 17 or a 26.

Personally, I wouldn't want to go after more exotic chamberings such as 357SIG, etc, unless I had the $$ to afford the ammo along with it.

Yeah, that was my gut reaction as well.

But honestly you're looking at ~$.36/rd for "plinking" factory ammo and around a buck a round for carry ammo.

Carry ammo price isn't so different from 9mm TAP or Buffalo Bore for my J-frame.

It would be more of a "carry lots, shoot little" sort of thing.

I already bought a threaded barrel for my G19.

My wimpy handloads won't cycle it with the SWR Trident9, and the sights are too low to see over the suppressor.

There might be some potential with a C-More or something though...

It really depends on what you want to accomplish and what excites you.

If you are looking for a high volume shooter and want the keep cost down, stick with the 9X19.

You might even want to put a .22 conversion kit on something down the road if ammo cost becomes an issue, so a 17 or 19 might make sense.

If you are looking for something to carry with a bit more power, consider a 27 or 36.

If it was me I'd order a different caliber. That's one of the nice things with the Glock system, caliber changes to another pistol is easy. Not a bunch of buttons to figure out!

So I'd go to the other end of the spectrum from what you have, compact and stopping power....I'm back to the 27 or 36.

Get a Glock 20 for when you absolutely positively have to kill... whatever's in front of the flashie end.
