Maybe it was a ranger MTT? I know before I got out they opened ranger school to many more people than whoever it was open to before. Going to ranger school is one thing, being in the ranger Batt is another.

That's what I was thinking to, I went to Benning for basic so knew they were the training grounds of the Rangers.

Just wondering if there is any way to really tell if he is being honest, or if he is full of shit and should remove that tab? He was even wearing his marksman badge on his ACUs
We need to take this in bites.

As said School is based out of Benning and the 75th is out of Benning. A marksman badge on ACU's? Sorry but the last uniform that was a duty and a class "B" was the old tan/Khaki that was shelved in 83 or so. Some tabs like the EIB, EFMB, and others are authorized for wear with the ACU's but a stupid bolo badge?

Had many friends in the 75th and supported them when i was at Ft Benning but after seeing what I saw I said "no thanks" to going RIP. I may be wrong but I can always check tomorrow when I go to work....
I see you running, tell me what your running from

Nobody's coming, what ya do that was so wrong.

No I am sure you are correct. I have my CFMB that I earned, that was on ACUs along with my air assault (yes, I know, dopes on ropes) but have never seen anyone wear a damn marksman badge lol

    I'm from 75th Ranger Regiment

    Here's the breakdown:
    1) Ranger tab is awarded for completing the 63 day school and is authorized for wear on the ACU uniform. Any unit can send people to Ranger school and earn their tab. It DOES NOT make them a Ranger.
    2) 75th Ranger Regiment: Upon volunteering 4 times and successfully completing RASP (Ranger Assessment and Selection Program) or RIP/ROP (Ranger Indoctrination Program, pre 2005), you are assigned to one of the 3 Ranger Battalions or their support companies. Then are you authorized to wear the tan beret and the 1st, 2d, 3d, or 75th scroll.
    3) 75th RTB (Ranger Training Brigade): These are Ranger school instructors, OPFOR, and support personnel for Ranger school at Ft. Benning, GA; Delogonia, GA; and Eglin AF, FL (3 phases of RS). They are authorized to wear the tan beret (although most never do) and wear the Ft. Benning "Follow Me" patch. They ARE NOT Rangers since they are non deployable and not a combat unit, although some of the RIs were previously.
    4) Pre-74: lots of individual companies from pre WWII to Vietnam are considered Ranger Companies. List is easily found via google.

If someone is falsely wearing the tab then a call to Ranger Training Brigade will confirm their award of the Ranger tab or not. There is a lost of everyone who has attempted and completed that school, organized by class number.

If someone is falsely wearing the scroll for members of the 75th Ranger Regiment, then a call to the 75th Rgt. RTSB will confirm if they are or ever were assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment. This sometimes can fall under the stolen valor act if they are using the false award for monetary gain as 75th is a special operations unit.

With all that being said, when in doubt, ask for their DD-214 (if feasible) to confirm anything if it is for a job or marrying your sister. Other than that, lots of airsoft kids run around with scrolls and shit trying to be cool. We don't give a shit. As Mick-boy has said, "it's difficult to care about grown men playing dress up."

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

I feel like this thread is about to turn into a Batt Boy meet and greet.
