Looking For great FISHING

Dont know to many places around here, but im a big trout lover and looking for a great stream or lake or somthing......Someone just let me know where you go and have good luck everytime

LOCATION: Colorado Springs, but far away places is great to since I love to take the hoptie dodge rv and get away for a while. thx agian guys

I typically go to ponds or the reservoir around my area almost every other day. Where are you located?

Since you won't put your location in your profile and didn't put it in your post, it makes it more difficult to advise a good fishing location for you.

I have always had great luck with fishing @ Skaguay Lake - just past Victor. I ALWAYS catch my limit within an hour (this is the only place I'll practice catch & release - so I can keep fishing). The lake also has pike, but they aren't as large as you'll get at a bigger lake.

Not only do I always catch my limit there, but the landscape is really beautiful as opposed to places like 11-Mile Lake which is just ugly and I never catch anything there (there are really big fish in 11-Mile, but most folks I know don't catch much there).

bass are plentiful everywhere in the denver metro right now, trout are always biting on something.

If your ideal location is to pull something in every few seconds....
Fort Carson has some ponds down range that are heavily stocked.
You will need a state license as well as a Fort Carson license available at the MWR office on Fort Carson.

Particularly North Side Reservoir has abundand small bass. (some as small as 2") Fishing from shore on the west side under the tree, 20-30' off shore a small fly like a mosquito will keep you very, very busy.
It is a great place to teach kids to fish or fly fish. You can catch a fish every 5-10 seconds all day long.

Townsen Reservoir has heavily stocked trout with some older broud stock. Rainbows as larger as 24" can be caught.

Again if catching soemthing every few seconds is your ideal location.
There is also Brush Hollow near Florence.
North of the boat ramp, before the shore starts to turn westerly, in the shallows (under 4' of water) there is again tons of small bass and crappie. There are also some juvinile cats on the bottom. I usually catch fish in the 5-12" range every couple of minutes on worms there. If trout is more your style, the water inlet on the south-east side is full of sitting trout at about 20-22' of water.

If you are looking for keepers, I am NOT you man for info. I don't keep fish, just enjoy catching and releasing.

Anybody have similar info on the Denver Metro Area? I would love somewhere close to teach the girls (5&7) to fish and keep their ever so short attention span focused.

I forgot to add...somewhere that allows bait is a plus. I'm not a bait fisherman, and I can't even seem to catch anything with it when I try , but my oldest daughter has cerebral palsy, and can only use 1 arm. She can't hold a rod and reel at the same time, so spin fishing is out. Fly fishing might be a possibility in the future, but she is very uncoordinated now.

if trout is your thing you cant beat crystal resivior on the pikes peak highway. They stock the shit out of that lake.

rocky mountain arsenal is a good time also. the spillway at chatty and about a mile or so down the river are very nice for trout right now, green rubbers, senko's, and flies.

not too many exciting places around town for kids, the metro spots that are easy access get blown out pretty fast.

if you are up for a little drive (bout 45 mins from denver) cruise up golden gate canyon to kriley(sp) pond, throw on some power bait for the kids. i pull out stockers on almost every cast with my fly rod and a black woolybugger and nymph dropper, while my GF knocks em dead on worms and power bait.
