    Default C Products Defense Pics

A friend picked up some C Products Defense magazines this summer. You can read about the drama surrounding C Products and ASC on other AR15 forums. Intrigued by all the cluster surrounding them, I grabbed a few pictures.

From Left to Right: NHMTG, C Products, D&H (Only had a 20 round available at the time). On the right side of the mag is the cage code “6M9N8” and “.223 5.56 AL”. On the left side is “Made in the USA” and an 8 digit number.

    Baseplate:

    A couple notes:

    These haven’t been shot yet.

The clear finish feels different than the others. Almost like it is sticky or didn’t quite dry correctly. Sticky isn't the right word.

The feed lips weren’t as straight as the others. I don’t know if that is by design or not.

There were four snaps on the spines where the two halves of the mag snapped-together. I’ve never seen this on USGI type mags before.

The overlap and joining of the two halves didn’t appear to be as tight as the other mags.

The orange follower looked very similar to the magpul followers in the other mags.

I’m not recommending these and I’m not telling anyone to avoid them. I have no opinion on them either way.

How do you know if there's an issue unless you've used them ?

    Good question. I don’t.

This post was made only to show differences/similarities between these magazines. And give some personal observations and thoughts. I see that it could have come across as an attack against them. I'm sorry about that.

My understanding is that there are a lot strong opinions swirling around the corporate side of ASC and CPD. I was hoping that these pictures might show actual details of the mags in question.

I have never had an issue with my c-products mags. In fact, many of them are the ones I keep loaded all the time in my soft "tactical" rifle bag... they've always worked fine for me. I don't care to read about other people's drama...

You are un-American and do not get the purpose of the Internet!

To the OP, magazines are expendable items. As some of our rather brilliant representatives have noted, after you shoot all of the ammunition from them, they are no good and you have to throw them away.

I need to find some magazine repair kits.

Quick Update – for what it is worth.
He said two worked fine and two were having feeding issues. He said he was going to put magpul followers in and give them another shot.
I don’t have any other details.

Well, thankfully we don't have to worry about such pesky issues in CO anymore, we're safer now.

Don't know if I should laugh or cry.

I have a few C-Products 30 rounders and they've never given me any issues. That said I do view them as range-only mags since their construction, to my untrained eye, seems to be sloppy. My preferred mags are still NHMTG, D&H and PMAGs.

I have 2 ASC 20 round mags and those aren't so hot. More often than not the last round likes to pop out of the mag or the bolt hold open will trip prematurely with the last round still in the mag. These have been relegated to display items for my retro builds.
