Default Smell like scam to you?

So I posted a sale on craigslist. The first reply was... is this still available? contact me asap. So I did with email. And then I got this crap....

I appreciate your response to my inquiry. I would have loved to come
check it out myself but I won't be able to do so because am currently
at Hawaii celebrating my Wedding Anniversary with my wife. I would
love a surprise inclusions and replacements in our home on our return.
Please do withdraw the advert from craigslist as i don't mind adding
$50 for you to do that, so i can be rest assured that the item is held
for me. I have no iota of doubt regarding the item's good condition as
represented in craig's list. I will be making the payment
via a Certified Check, which my secretary will mail across to you.
I'll be picking the item from you with the aid of a mover. My Mover
will be coming to pick it from you once the Certified Check has been
cashed. Please I will need both your full name and physical address
along with your phone number to issue out the payment.
    Warmest Regards

What the faq is this shit? I'm new to craigslist. Is this a scam? I replied with a see you when you come back and no info from me buddy. Am I wrong?

    Its a scam.

What they do is give you a certified check or MO for over the amount of the asking price. So your sell your item for $100 they give you $200. Then they want you to cash the MO and keep a $100 and give their "mover" $100 cash

The problem is the CC or MO is almost always fake and it takes a couple of weeks for your bank to figure that out.

So you give cash to the "mover" and your on the hook for the fake CC or MO. and owe the bank the full amount.

Forward the email and the attorney general and craigslist.

I'd tell him to send you a USPS Money Order for the $50 and you'll hold the item until he returns then cash for the balance.

Sorry to be the one to break it to you but honesty is non-existent on that site. There are a lot of scumbags looking to make a quick buck (and a lot of people falling for these scams). I am glad to hear that you were not one of them.

That is a scam. The language is a dead give away.

I never take paypal either. This is a huge scam. A friend of mine got burned bad via paypal as they will reverse the charges on the drop of a hat if the the person claims they didn't get the item, it was the wrong item or anything like that.
