Confused about why I was just pulled over...

While we're discussing BS, did they just change the law again so that an illuminated check engine light is an automatic fall on emissions?

Mine has been illuminated for years, dealer can't clear it, they just said that everything checks out. I just went through the emissions check and no one said anything and the truck passed with flying colors.

Yes, to the extent that at some point the crack endangers the safe operation of the vehicle due to the likelihood of it suffering catastrophic failure while in motion.

Honey Badger, I feel your frustration. Not to put words in your mouth, but I have been in your shoes and what upset me the most was how seemingly arbitrary the whole thing was. If I broke the law (changing lanes without signaling) then write me a ticket for that. If not, or if the officer wasn't sure, well then apologize for the mistake and let me go on about my day. Yes, I get the system is all about generating money, but maybe it's time for us to collectively ask for a new system.

I could see getting your cherry popped on a speeding ticket. BUT CRACKED WINDSHIELD Wait till you get one of those I noticed you were not wearing a seat belt by the CSP . It's the admit you were speeding without them saying you were speeding, traps.
You noticed i wasn't wearing a seat belt? How could you have seen that when i passed you doing 89 oopsssss...........................

This is not the first time I've ever been pulled over... but it is the first time i've been pulled over without a legitimate reason. I'm sure it won't be the last time... I will be pissed though if I get pulled over for the cracked windshield again. We are about to drive to Michigan and don't have time to replace it before then.
