Mine didn't. I specifically tested prior to rebooting to find out if it was required. I've been using Comcrap (and previously AT&T) for cable internet since the mid 90's and every speed increase required a reboot before this one. Two days ago I ran a speed test and got nearly 100Mbps down w/o doing a reboot when prior to I would see ~50Mbps. I rebooted after that as I had a window when I could take my network offline and it hadn't been done in a while anyway and after that I had to reboot several times to get it to even work properly. I'm not sure why it allowed the speed increase w/o a reboot but I'm even more puzzled as to why it took several reboots to work properly after the fact. Like I said, check your speed first and if you don't have it and don't live in Fort Collins reboot and test again.
