Agreed, but most communities are self policing, especially here in Douglass County. It would be suicidle to try and rob someone down here. Most people carry I suspect. I watch the news my wife puts on and they run stories about how Airfares are going up...which they're not compared to the late 80's. I'd bet that if every pilot went on strike or quit during the holidays it would make the front page everywhere. The media exposes our ignorance as a society. And again, most people are not willing to quit their job to prove a point.....to many mouths to feed and bills to pay.

I agree...when the dock workers go on strike it is chaos on the Islands. Sanitation too. There was a teachers strike.... Lots of upset parents taking off work or paying for daycare....id like to see the police strike. We can call it a "well day"... Everyone felt too good to go into work.

I don't think by their CBA they're allowed to.

That was tried numerous times over decades. The first time it was to protest gas hitting $1.50 per IIRC. See how well that worked.

    Interesting editorial from "Weaponsman": http://weaponsman.com/?p=19827

    Snippet:
The background to Lynch’s heavily-reported, blunt statement is this: Bill DeBlasio, the controversial mayor who campaigned on a platform of cop-hatred and has sought, and had, the worst relations with police in New York history (not omitting David Dinkins), explained that he taught his own son to fear and hate the police, because they might kill him for no reason as a minority.
