Spyderco is a good brand, even their made in China knives are good, and their low budget "Byrd" line is far better than anything else at that price point. It is hard to find a better quality knife without paying twice as much.

Amazon will often beat their "in Golden" prices, but big boxes typically won't. It is nice to have the attention and their full range of knives.
Having said that,
Oh yeah. I really like their Seki-City knives, myself.
I like the ones that say "Golden, Colorado, USA, Earth" for obvious reasons, but these hold up really really well.
Obviously not a golfer.
Spyderco's Chinese stuff is different than most manufacturer's in that they own the facility, provide all the tooling and materials, and directly control the production and QC, according to my sales rep, Lynnette. Essentially, the only thing "Chinese" about them is the labor. The Byrd knives are an amazing value, I have a couple for work knives, and they are 95% of a regular Spyderco at less than half the cost.

Discussion is an exchange of intelligence. Argument is an exchange of
ignorance. Ever found a liberal that you can have a discussion with?
Sal and Gail are nice folks, You can actually call spyderco and if there in the building talk to the owners. For years I've dealt with Rachel in the store. I can buy from the internet cheaper than the store so I dont see them as often. They should include band aids with there products as they are sharp.
