I always get weird stuff from my FIL, but he's also given my an FNX so I'm never sure what's coming. Last year a SOG "tactical tomahawk " this year a machete with a wood saw on the back of the blade. Dude is so random, guess if I ever need to dismember a body quick I'll have the right tools.

Once you learn to use that machete (if you don't already know) you'll find that it's pretty useful, even around here.

My mother has been in a strange gift selection mode for my sister and I for several years now. Every year I tell her to not get me any presents as being in her company during the holidays is enough. That and she should focus her present giving budget on my sisters 3 young boys. Either way, she can't resist herself in getting "Something" for me and this year I ended up with a Captain America Track Jacket....... WTF!!!

Either way, we all got together at my sisters house for Christmas and it was super fun to see her three boys bounce off the walls with excitement while opening and playing with their presents. Its cool to see kids in this state of excitement during the holidays.

I got some great gifts this year.

Then there were the WTF? gifts.

A generic brand range bag (duh, I have like a dozen already) and a Case Logic DSLR/laptop backpack that's way too small for my laptop.

PSA folks - backpacks and gear bags are kinda personal unless you know someone has NOTHING and you have some experience with what works.

I think I saw a number of those backpacks at Microcenter- they can always be repurposed, right? I understand what you mean about gear bags and such being personal- I dislike the way ours is set up, but until I get my sewing chops up to snuff I'll have to just lump it. One of our first gear bags now carries hygiene stuff in one of our cars. All those weird-sized pockets are put to use.

I got a set of juggling bean bags, no directions on how to juggle though. My kid and I throw them at each other.

Juggling three is easy enough with some practice. You can probably pick it up in about a day or two. It's basically muscle memory/rhythm.
