In my day the models of 1911 are:
    Government - 5" barrel
    Commander - 4" or 4.25" barrel
    Officer - 3" barrel
Never had one that included Officer and Commander in the title. Just measure the barrel length and tell us what you have. We can all name it what we want after that. Maybe a picture would work as well.

The "Range Officer Compact" has the Champion (commander) 4" bull ramped barrel upper and a "officer" (shortened 6 round) sized Alloy frame. See the first link in my post above.

Yes, the new "CCO" lines of 1911 models are commander barrels with officer frames. SA is supposed to be making this particular model in 9mm as well!!

That was the term I couldn't think of, they are not that new, there have been a few manufacturers that have come out with there version over the last few years.
But this is a new offering as far as SA is concerned.

I see Range Officer "Compact". My point is it's not called a Range Officer "Commander" as in the OP.

And so the confusion, the OP also states "full size commander" in another post in conjunction with calling it a Range Officer.

Throw "MicroCompact" into the mix for further confusion.

"Come on man" nobody has mentioned "MicroCompact" now your just scaring people. Pretty soon the OP is going to be too intimidated to even tell us what he really has.
