AR-15 upper with NO markings help lol

Picked up an AR upper for dirt cheap from a friend, functions flawless but has no markings on it. Just a keyhole on the right side. Barell says .223/5.56 nato 1/9 but I can't seem to find anything else. Nothing on the BCG either. Friend don't know what it is either lol' price was dirt cheap so helped him out but just wondering what the hell it is lol .

Cerro Forge. Many companies use them...Stag, Double Star, DD, S&W, DPMS, Sabre Defence and more. Rated a high quality forging but what happens after it's shipped from Cerro might effect the overall performance and accuracy, good or bad.

Unless a vendor like BCM or Spikes request or does it in house, the uppers are not marked with a specific name. Do some research and see how many vendors / mfg sub-contract their lowers. Then once in house or at true mfg get their name put on the lower. I have lowers from name vendors that sport the same keyhole mark as the ones shadow ops sold. .
