    Default Website creation/building

So the wife and I are thinking about creating a kennel and breeding pointing labs. We would like to get a website up and running to get some info out there, however, I have never build a website. So, thats where you fine folks come in. I need everything so let me know who you use and why. Thanks for all the help.

I used Wix for my website creation and hosting. Their HTML5 editor makes it really simple. You don't need to know anything about coding; it's all just drag and drop. I went through all their templates, found one I liked that would be suitable for my business, and modified it until it looked the way I wanted.

    For example:

this is the template I used

And I turned it into this.
"America is at that awkward stage: It's too late to work within the system, and too early to shoot the bastards."
    -Claire Wolfe

"I got a shotgun, rifle, and a four-wheel drive, and a country boy can survive."
    -Hank Williams Jr.

It might serve you better to hire someone to build website and maintain the SEO; that way, you can focus your attention on raising and breeding your dogs. The reason I suggest this is that is because you want something that looks professional and instills confidence in your customers- not to mention the fact that you can have a unique-looking website that attracts people. I tried to build my own website and botched it, big time. I finally went with someone that specializes in websites and SEOs, and am relieved to have that monkey off my back! That's my personal experience, but then again, my website needs miht be completely different from what you're looking for. I'd start by making a list of the things you want for your website: advertisement (clearly), photos, do you want to collect money through your site (e-commerce)? Do you want to educate customers? Do you want a blog, to update and draw business? How many pages do you want it to have, and so on.

I've never heard of pointing labs. I've heard of labs, and pointers...are these a hybrid hunting dog breed?

I have used Weebly with great success in the past. It is very easy to use, has many great templates, and more. It has some SEO options, ecommerce, and again is really easy to use. HERE is my website using Weebly.

    I used Matt at https://matthewaprice.com/.

He does great work and the sites he builds are clean and easy to use/update.

Best to get your own site up with your own vps or small server. The most popular platform is still WP. Tons of free or cheap designs out there. It's not hard to learn and much cheaper in the long run compare to the many diy site services who charge you monthly.

There are a lot of tricks for seo. Google black hat and white hat seo.

Bluehost. Godaddy also has some good prices, but they'll bug you with "specials".
