Default It's definitely a buyers market right now

So, I was giving some thought to putting together a MK12 type rifle and started pricing out parts and pieces to get it done. Turns out to put together a very good replica was going to cost a bit more than I am wanting to put out right now. But, while toying around with that idea I thought maybe a varmint type build might be fun so I started pricing out stuff to do that.

Next thing you know, I was checking out some factory rifle prices. Looks like I can get a factory built rifle ready to go for less than I can put one together. Even changing out a few parts and pieces on the new rifle I will still come out ahead versus putting one together myself.

I guess now I have to give some serious thought to wether or not I really want or need one and start doing a little research to see which ones people have had the best luck with.

    Decisions, decisions.

Agreed. Now is the time to buy what you want/need and stockpile. Hillary is coming in 2016. We have a little less than 2 years to prepare for her dark rule. When (barring some miracle) she gets elected, these are going to be remembered as "the good old days". I need more ARs like I need a hole in the head but the great prices makes it almost impossible to resist.

Yep, I started to built another basic AR and now I'm upside down vs just buying one. O'well, my house is way the other direction now though.

It's bad when you can buy a turn key 308 AR for under $800. If you don't care for tactical and would like a great shooter the Remy 788's in the FS section are good buys.

I saw those rights after he posted them up. Just didn't have one in a caliber I really wanted.

I was under the impression that PTAC stuff was not that desirable, but I read that a few years ago. I was asking another member about his PTAC rifle the other day and he said it was fine. Anyone have any comment on PTAC stuff?
