    Default Crime in my Hood!

    http://www.9news.com/story/news/crim...lane/21309607/

HIGHLANDS RANCH - Four adults and one juvenile were taken to the hospital Monday afternoon following a fight in the 8800 block of Chestnut Hill Lane – about a block away from Quebec Street.
The disturbance was an isolated incident, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. Authorities say the injuries were not life-threatening, and it's unclear whether the victims knew each other.

Police could not confirm if the victims sustained stab wounds but they could say that a possible knife or tools were involved. The fight happened outside, and the sheriff's office is trying to confirm if or how it is connected to the home where it started.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

No additional information was immediately available.
Very strange for this area... Anyone know of how I can get more details?

I was thinking the same thing (almost bought a house on Chestnut Hill LN 4 years ago), my first guess is an angry, confused teenager with a knife (or other sharp object) and family members trying to calm them down before the cops show up. Much easier to calm a situation down before the guns come out... this is not cop bashing, just relating real world experiences.

That's a good thought. And maybe that's why DCSD isn't saying much because it involves the juvenile.

You should have bought--you'd be my neighbor!

Not this way at all on my street.

We've had three houses sell in the last ~5 years all bought by families. One just had a baby and another is a multi-generation household which I kind of like because someone is always home. Everyone works and the only nuisance is an occasional dog (nervous ankle biter types [we have big dogs that are a great neighbors]).

This made us LOL, it's not just the younger crowd. We live in a very nice, mostly family neighborhood and our neighbors (the ones close enough where we can see what they're watching on TV), have become a dysfunctional swinger family even with their two young kids. I'm not saying that swingers are dysfunctional but when your sex life requires the police on a regular basis you have issues... unless that's your thing.

They threw a Halloween party that several of us neighbors objected to (50 people in a .2 acre back yard) and the guests were so drunk by 10PM that they were arguing with the cops and trying to confront us by pushing the cops aside to get to us. At the direction of DCPD we all went inside but apparently they moved to another house on the hill and continued the party. I heard it finally ended when one husband got pissed that someone was flirting with his wife and said he was going home to get his gun. Completely hearsay but I heard he came back with it and his wife had to lock herself up in the safe room until the police arrived again.

    I wish I had a safe room.

Do they have large white rocks in their front yard?

We've heard that one too but there appear to be so many swingers I think the rocks are redundant. We did have one clump of 4 houses that seem to fit the bill and they all had identical 'no dogs on yard' signs. We found a few of the same sign spread through the neighborhood so it's as good a rumor as anything.

Maybe it was a miscommunication like a game of telephone, and she actually used the safe word?
