There is a big difference between the players on the field and the chumps in the stands. I'm sure none of the actual players laughed, although there is a great / revealing scene in "Fever Pitch" (I know…) where a diehard fan catches the players out at dinner having a blast after a loss.

I do think the NFL fan thing is out of control. How many teams have undercover cops in opposing team jerseys now?
I can say one evening, probably 3 years ago, I happened to be wearing another team's (again, GB) hat, and it was the breast cancer hat at that (!) coming into one of the more well known pizza establishments on the West Side.
I held the door for some old lady and when she saw it, she actually said something like, "Green Bay? I don't think so!" I just smiled and held it. Part of me wanted to respond, "Who cares what you think?" but I held the door and smiled.
It was more pathetic than anything and reminded me of that old booing woman on the news. Is this where we are as fans?
    Obviously not a golfer.

Copy/pasted my comment from the Broncos thread in CCW forum:

Yup, went to one game this year and decided it'll be my last. Not worth the time/money/effort it takes. Then, you have to deal with all the drunk idiots there. Last time, I got to hear an overweight 40-something year old talk about how he was going to beat some guy up for talking smack all game (he was wearing the other teams gear). I just shook my head and said never again would I support that type of environment.

Im much happier at home with cheap food prices and no bathroom lines.
Add that on top of the fact that it literally has no benefit to my life and I'm happy to do other things on Sundays now. I used to watch the NFL all day on Sundays but now, I'll only watch the Broncos if I have nothing else to do. I still hope the home teams do good but it's a game, nothing else and we treat it as if it's the end of the world. I know lots of people that wouldnt even talk to people after the loss. They just went to bed or asked not to be bothered. So yeah...

Someone was trying to pass a rumor on to me that we'd see Shanahan and RG3 in the Broncos.

I'm sure its BS but that would have me cheering for everyone the Broncos played.

This myth was proven false years (decades?) ago, regarding the Super Bowl. It put forth by the feminist radicals one year. It had legs, that's for sure. But it's bullshit.
