What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Yep, paid for the "old" one, still waiting for the stamp. Dang-it!!!

Ooh! Ooh! Wait! Something just occurred to me! Since I've spent a lifetime enduring 4 years of Morse code in cheap govt. headsets, and 36 years of airplane/airport noise, and now a decade of firearms, my hearing is destroyed to a level that equated to AT LEAST the difference between the one I've bought, but not taken possession of yet, and the new super-duper one, so my experience will be the same, without the new price!

    WooHoo! I win!

For those of you crying because you have the old model, just remember - there are quite a few of us out there that don't even own one and would kill to have that horribly heavy and noisy one that you currently own.

I understand, but its only 2-5 db, and some weight reduction, but hanging off of a 7-12 pound rifle, not really that big a deal.........latest and greatest in suppressors is OK, but most people will think you are "super cool" just to have one suppressor..

Be cool, enjoy the current model..........

    Quick lesson is decibel math:

    dB math is logarithmic.

    2dB is a factor of approximately 1.75
    5dB is a factor of approximately 3.2

So if the suppressor is 5dB more effective, that means the actual measured sound produced by the firearm is more than three times quieter!

If you say, "Oh, it's just 2 dB... that's not very significant," you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself! -2dB is 1.75 times quieter!

Enjoy your suppressors, folks. Hopefully someday I'll have one.

I've got to handle the Ultra series the other day. They are remarkably light! Excited to get a couple.

The dB math can be deceiving. A 3dB reduction is a 50% reduction, but can be difficult to detect that level of change with your ears.

If you have two noise sources, one at 135dB and one at 132dB, it would be very difficult to distinguish between the two, without instrumentation.

As far as who's flipper to rub....

ETA: Placing my order for a TBA Ultra-9 this week... then the wait.....
