    Default Perspectives

(My folks sent me this, and it's probably been posted before, but through many searches I couldn't find it...)

You may have heard on the news about a Southern California man who was put under 72-hour psychiatric observation when it was found he owned 100 guns and allegedly had 100,000 rounds of ammunition stored in his home. The house also featured a secret escape tunnel.

By Southern California standards, someone owning 100,000 rounds is considered "mentally unstable."

In Michigan, he'd be called "The last white guy still living in Detroit."

In Arizona, he'd be called "an avid gun collector."

In Arkansas, he'd be called "a novice gun collector."

In Utah, he'd be called "moderately well prepared," but they'd probably reserve judgment until they made sure that he had a corresponding quantity of stored food."

In Kansas, he'd be "A guy down the road you would want to have for a friend.

In Montana, he'd be called "The neighborhood 'Go-To' guy."

In Idaho, he'd be called "a likely gubernatorial candidate."

In Georgia, he'd be called "an eligible bachelor."

In North Carolina, Virginia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky and South Carolina he would be called "a deer hunting buddy."

And, in Texas he'd just be "Bubba, who's a little short on ammo."

And by DC standards he'd be considered and labeled a terrorist.

In SD he would be a successful businessman, owns a motorcycle shop or auto dealership.

Some people like lobster rolls and some like gumbo.

I think people generally tend to congregate in places where they feel like they are more normal than not.

It would be nice some day if we could actually find out how many of the best known anti-gun supporters actually have guns and ammunition. On second though, I don't care. Unlike them, I am less concerned with what other people have or feel and will try to concentrate on minding my own business, while trying to convince others they should do likewise.

My general thoughts on ammo is to have 500 rounds per gun. Friends of mine think that number is low, but it's a starting point. Most people I know never considered storing much ammo until the 2008 election when it all disappeared. The libs have driven this shift in ammo storage nation wide by there own anti gun actions, now they are shocked. 100 guns is a nice collection but is by no means radical. In my book a 100 gun collection should have at least 50K round of ammo. If you want to see stupid numbers of anything stored threaten to take it away, that's the American way.

Is that loaded ammo or what you can reload? It all starts coming down to how many safes your house can support on the 100 guns.

In CO that would be most people on this forum for the ammo is my guess
