    Default Palmetto State AK?

I didn't see any mention of this in the Shot Show threads.

One of the more surprising announcements of SHOT 2015 was that Palmetto State Armory (PSA), one of the top suppliers of affordable ARs and AR parts, would begin producing an AK-pattern rifle.

The South Carolina-based manufacturer and retailer had an all-black Kalashnikov on display next to their usual assortment of firearms and accessories. PSA’s AKs will be fully American-made, and appear to be AKM-spec rifles—that means they’ll be compatible with almost all of the AK accessories available in the US market. They plan on starting with 7.62x39mm and moving on to other calibers later.

I would guess the Kalashnikov booth probably stole the thunder from most other manufacturers with AK rifles.

Not sure what to think about a PSA AK. But regardless, I hope the attention the AK platform is getting will help to bring down the prices on "quality" rifles. Yes, I realize that is a funny statement to use when talking about AKs.

Side note, but where are the metal reinforced magpul AK mags at? Shouldn't they be released by now?

    So true..
What I have seen with these all American built ak's is that they are actualy riviting the front trunnion with the barrel installed- ie bucking up against the barrel. Not realy the propper way to get full compression on the rivit. I've seen a few cases where the rivits loosen up,some of the century builds were like that.

the article says "fully American made" but by a quick glance I see what looks like a Hungarian or polish mid-late pattern front sight block. basically its a kit build with enough us compliance parts to call it an "American" rifle. nothing wrong with that but "sub 700$"?!!!? I could build that for myself for probably 400$ after selling the Hungarian amms underfolding assemble and trunnion (probably for 350 if I used one of my many spare akm wod furniture sets) ar companies are going to make ak's to rip off ar enthusiasts lol
