Default Question for you NFA veterans

I dug through the forum but didn't see anything recently but does anyone have any advice for CLEO signature in Adams county? I'm looking at getting my first Colorado NFA item and not sure how friendly the Adams County CLEO is. Thanks in advance for the advice.

My understanding is your better off using a trust in Adams County to avoid needing a CLEO signature. We have a trust guy on the forum.

Luckily Darr is gone, since he wouldn't sign NFA forms at all.

And we replaced him with a strong GOP sheriff McIntosh in the last election. He took office a couple weeks ago. I have yet to hear anyone try to go get his signature, but during the election he unequivocally said he would sign NFA forms for citizens unless he had good reason not to for a particular application.

But that said, I still think trust/Corp is the way to go

I remember McIntosh saying that he would sign. Just wasn't sure if anyone here had tested that yet. I was thinkig trust but the company I work for likes to transfer people around and I've found that a trust in some states is pretty much useless as they consider it a person and not an entity which negates the benefits. If I knew for sure I would be staying in Colorado permanently then that's the direction I'd go.

Can't offer any advise that isn't listed. You should be the McIntosh guinea pig for us .

I just went the trust route.

Maybe for the estate. HOWEVER The NFA Trust is valid where ever you reside for filing Form 1's & 4's.
