As tragic as this is, and I understand that it is....

I have long thought that getting some of the more amicable islamic states in that region on our side was the key to winning this "war" on terror. Turkey, which is IMHO the only truly westernized and modern islamic state (some other states are getting there, but still have a ways to go) voted almost unanimously to allow their president to attack ISIS at will, including in Iraq and Syria. Unfortunately, very little has come of this, except for some show of force on Syria/Turkey border towns. But I, in someways, hope something provokes Turkey to get more involved now that it is approved. Rest assured, Turkey is nothing to mess with.... they have the largest standing infantry in NATO (besting the U.S. by almost 40%), and their military boys live and breath military from a very young age.

Now, I think we may have an ally in Jordan, who in general is fairly westernized and civil compared the company they have in that region. They also have one of the best air forces of all islamic countries, overshadowed by only Turkey and Iran. Turkey + Jordan could present quite a formidable foe for ISIS, especially with western backing and elevated support by muslims who might be happy to join a war against the west, but are not so keen to join a terrorist force against other muslims.

We shall see, but I think ISIS is on their way to signing their death warrant if they keep down this path. We can only hope.
