Brian Williams, the nation’s top-rated news anchor, has admitted fabricating a tale of being shot down in a helicopter over Iraq a dozen years ago.

I'm not sure it was a fabrication as much as mis-remembering. His mea-culpa was satisfactory. The fact that he honored those in uniform was the most important thread.
