Default Great customer service from Henry

Thought I'd share for anyone interested. Couldn't find a Marlin 1894C in .357, none on local shelves and all distributors were out so bought a new Henry Big Boy. Picked it up on a Saturday and when I got it home I couldn't get the magazine tube out. I emailed the company Saturday evening about the problem and then continued to work on it. I finally got it unstuck and found a burr on the end closest to the receiver. After taking the burr off and doing a little polishing it works great.

To my surprise I had an email early Sunday morning from the president of the company stating that he was calling his production manager at home to discuss the issue with him and would get back to me. I answered him stating that I had resolved the issue. He then emailed that he had discussed it with his production mgr who stated that should have been caught at the final QC inspection. He said he was glad I got it resolved but was sending me a pre-paid shipping label in the event I had further problems in the future.

I can't imagine getting such personal service from the president of any other manufacturer, especially on a Sunday.

The frosting on the cake came at the range. This thing is a great shooter, much more accurate than the Marlin 1894C in .357 I had and sold.

Made an error in my original post. It's a Big Boy, not a Golden Boy.

Yeah, a TRUE American product, not just something that gets assembled here from parts made elsewhere. To top it all off they really are great products which tells me the employees arent union!

My father just recently purchased 4 (four) (sequential serials) of the Lincoln memorial Henry rifles as heirlooms to the kids/grandkids. My son recently got the first one on his birthday... took him to the range for a few to shoot it - great gun. Smooth.

I emailed Henry a few months back with questions and requested a catalog, personal response from them was nice - just as you have experienced.

I'll get a picture up soon of the kiddo with the new rifle.

The Pikes Peak Chapter of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation was donated a Henry .22LR lever-action by Sportmans Warehouse for our kids raffle @ our banquet this past April (not sure of the model).

The rifle looked great - until it arrived @ the banquet - it had gotten a serious scratch on the receiver. One of our committee members contacted Henry about the possibility of getting it repaired. Henry did one better - they requested the rifle be sent back to them and they sent us a brand new rifle.

They have definitely earned respect in my book.

Best out there! Kind of weird to be in NY but whatever.

Word of caution. You can make the golden boys become silver boys if your not carefull with cleaning the receiver. I'm sure they will fix em' but still watch out!
