I'll do you one better: a new Battlefield Vietnam. Not the BFBC2 DLC, but a dedicated new entry. A PC-only entry. It'll never happen, but this is a dream thread anyway. And since I'm dreaming, make it with Unreal Engine 4. No quick scopes, no dedicated melee button, no nerfed "hardcore" mode, no bullshit.
I think the COD generation is what ruined gaming for me. I just want to play a squad-based tactical shooter that encourages teamwork and intelligence. But to sell to today's gamers, you have to have perks and killstreaks and goofy horseshit that eliminates the need for communication and cooperation. Even the new Rainbow Six has done away with the cover system and all of the game modes for a singular game type with three minute rounds. Because God forbid these kids have to play a round for more than five minutes and actually employ some strategy.
Fallout 4
FFS, already, I agree! I'm so sick of games basically being played like this: Week 1, get through campaign in 2 nights, begin MP. Week 2-99999 Multiplayer, multiplayer, and oh look, a change of pace, more multiplayer with 6 DLCs that are all MP, not one SP expansion. Don't get me wrong, I'm hooked on BF4 still, but would love more SP, I've beaten the campaign 2x and feel like I don't care to try for a 3rd, even if I get a different gun.

I real honest to god proper combat air simulator ... like falcon 4 or the like from back in the day with proper physics and insane graphics.....
A good Starship Troopers film with powered armor and all, no 90s fake drama BS or Casper van dien.
also, HL3 before Gabe dies
and for George RR Martin to finish in this decade

Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws.
But, it's for the children!
From Peter F. Hamilton's sci-fi novels, either the Commonwealth Saga (Pandora's Star, Judas Unchained) or the Night's Dawn Trilogy. He's got lots of cool stuff hi-tech stuff in there like body rejuvenations, cylindrical space habitats, etc.
Or, John Scalzi's Old Man's War series books.
I almost never play the multiplayer crap, I don't have enough time to put into it to compete with the basement dwelling teens and I just don't think it's very rewarding after finishing. Honestly, the best FPS is the original Medal of Honor that Spielberg worked on. The campaign was fantastic. Even with much older graphics and engine I still think it blows every offering on the PS2/3/4 and Xbox/360/One out of the water.
