I know this thing has a snowball's chance of making it through, but a guy can dream.

It would be nice to be able to stash a handgun on my person and head out for the day feeling safe without it costing me over $500 to do so. (roughly a days wages to take off work to apply plus the cost of the permit)

Say by some miracle this passes, wouldn't you still want a CCW permit so you could carry in other states? Or would CO stop issuing them altogether, and then would wehave to apply for other out of state permits?

Most states with Constitutional Carry also issue permits for those that want to carry outside the state (also in some states a CHL will get you around BGCs).

I figure we have a better chance of seeing the mag ban go away before this but it still forces Demonrats to remind the people where they stand on the issue of gun rights and that will eventually work in our favor.

If hickenlooper wouldn't have been reflected, there would have been a chance. Some pressure from up top on the house and some recall pressure probably would have pushed it through. I'll be hopeful, but realistic.

Yes, one would still need a CO CCW permit to carry in another state. No, Colorado (county sheriffs) would not stop issuing permits. Opponents to Constitutional Carry LOVE to claim and some members of the press report that Constitutional Carry is somehow an attempt to do away with the current CCW permit system. That is false. A resident of Colorado who needs reciprocity in another state would need a CCW permit from Colorado. Anyone who would not be 100% certain that he/she would qualify for the current CCW permit SHOULD go through the current process. Nothing in the bill repeals the current system, it would remain in place.

Well said and thanks for all you do Chris.
Ridiculous we have to pay a "coat tax" to exercise a Right.

Or in my wife's case, not get to exercise her "right" because we haven't been able to afford it.

Probably the only reason I don't already have my permit is because of the way Adams County handles the process. They only accept applications by appointment and only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pretty much means I'd have to burn one of my vacation days to apply. I only get four weeks off a year so I hate burning those days for anything other than fun stuff and actual vacations. If I could just drop by without an appointment one day when I was in the area or if they would do it on a Friday that would be awesome. I guess Adams County doesn't want any more of my money than they already get.
